Human Capacity Development International (HCDI) is dedicated to capacity building in Vanuatu, focusing on protecting and advocating for human rights, amplifying the voice of civil society, and enhancing skills development. The organization plays a critical role in supporting disaster preparedness, climate change adaptation, and economic empowerment initiatives, with a particular emphasis on empowering women. HCDI operates under strategic pillars that include eliminating discrimination and violence against women and girls, enhancing women’s economic empowerment through skill development, advancing women’s leadership and political participation, and fostering gender-responsive, community-driven solutions to climate and disaster resilience. The organization works closely with key partners such as Van KIRAP, Sista, Oxfam, and VANGO, and engages specific groups like Women in Port Vila Correctional and Women in Central Tanna. HCDI’s activities are concentrated in Efate and Tanna Island, particularly within the Central Tanna Area Council, where it actively contributes to building resilient and empowered communities.
