Penpena Mouri

Penpena Mouri is a charitable organization in Vanuatu dedicated to using arts, media, and communications to empower communities, raise awareness, and advocate for issues impacting its clients. The organization plays a key role in supporting Vanuatu’s National Gender Equality Policy (NGEP) by providing consulting services such as coordination, mobilization, data collection, facilitation, and strategic planning. Penpena Mouri focuses on eliminating discrimination and violence against women, enhancing women’s economic empowerment, and advancing their leadership and political participation. Additionally, the organization contributes to gender mainstreaming and fostering gender-responsive, community-driven solutions to climate and disaster resilience. It works with specific groups, including single mothers and temporarily leading female-headed households, primarily in Port Vila, Efate, but has plans to expand its activities across all Vanuatu islands. Despite these efforts, Penpena Mouri faces challenges due to limited resources, especially in areas related to violence prevention and economic empowerment.
