Women and girls in Vanuatu experience some of the highest rates of violence in the world. In 2009,
Vanuatu Women’s Centre (VWC) in partnership with the Vanuatu National Statistics Office (VNSO)
conducted the first nation-wide study on violence against women and attitudes to women’s human
rights.
The report below is dedicated to the Ni-Vanuatu women and orgnisations who tirelessly fight for women’s rights in Vanuatu. It is written to support ongoing work in Vanuatu that strives to prevent violence against women and girls by synthesizing the literature on effective and promising primary prevention strategies.
