Climate change is not a distant threat for Vanuatu—it is a daily reality affecting communities, livelihoods, and futures. While global leaders continue to negotiate climate commitments, ni-Vanuatu people are already experiencing the devastating impacts of rising sea levels, extreme weather, and environmental change.

This research highlights the lived experiences of women across Vanuatu, revealing how climate change disproportionately affects them due to existing social and gender inequalities. Drawing on women-only focus groups conducted on Efate, Tanna, and Santo, the study amplifies local voices that are often overlooked in international climate discussions.

The findings emphasize the importance of recognizing the knowledge, resilience, and leadership of ni-Vanuatu women in shaping climate solutions. They also call for stronger global action on climate justice, greater support for vulnerable communities, and meaningful inclusion of Pacific perspectives in international decision-making.
